Longview police on Wednesday morning arrested a 41-year-old man in the Walmart parking lot at 104th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard.

Longview officers said Robert Dean Pitkin was wanted for multiple counts of burglary and theft. They added that Pitkin was identified as the suspect in a string of commercial burglaries that occurred in the downtown Longview area in November and December 2010.

Authorities took Pitkin into custody without incident about 11:40 a.m., according to a press release.

He was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail, authorities said.
