SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — President Obama is considering three finalists to become a federal judge for the Eastern District of Washington.
The opening occurred in 2009, when U.S. District Judge Robert Whaley announced his intention to take senior status.
U.S. Sen. Patty Murray and U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell have forwarded to the president the names of Spokane attorney Les Weatherhead, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Rice and Wenatchee attorney Stanley Bastian.
The president is expected to make his decision soon.
