SOUTH BEND, Wash. (AP) — The 16-year-old South Bend boy accused of killing his father will be tried as an adult.

KXRO reports Devon Moore made his first court appearance Thursday in South Bend and is held on $2 million bail. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Timothy Moore.

Prosecutors say Devon Moore shot his 48-year-old father in the head last November and left his body in a heavily wooded area. The remains were found April 1 by woodcutters.

Investigators arrested Devon Moore Wednesday at his home.
