PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger is out for Game 2 against the Buffalo Sabres.

The former NHL MVP has been sidelined since having hand surgery in March. He also missed time with a foot injury and was limited to just 50 games this season.

The Sabres led the series 1-0 entering Saturday night’s game.

Pronger sat out Buffalo’s 1-0 win over the Flyers on Thursday. He remains day to day. Pronger has said he’s very confident he’ll play against the Sabres.
