LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Kansas State left fielder Nick Martini went 0 for 5 on Sunday, snapping his streak of reaching base at 93 games.

Martini’s streak started in the final game of the 2009 season. He had at least one hit in 76 of the 93 games.

The NCAA doesn’t track consecutive games reaching base. According to research by Kansas State, Elon’s Cory Harrilchak owned the longest Division I streak at 86 games over the 2008-09 seasons.

Martini grounded out twice and flew out twice before taking a called third strike against Nebraska reliever Dylan Vogt in the ninth inning of the Wildcats’ 3-2 win.
