BERLIN (AP) — Hamburger SV says striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn left calf muscle.

Van Nistelrooy was injured during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Hannover.

The Dutch striker told Hamburg’s website Sunday that “it happened toward the end. The pain got worse after the game.”

He added that “I’m sure to be out for some time.”

Van Nistelrooy’s contract with the club runs out at the end of the season.
