Fire destroys Yakama tribal sweat lodge

TOPPENISH, Wash. (AP) — Fire has destroyed a sweat lodge used by Yakama tribal members at Toppenish.

KNDO reports no one was hurt in the fire early Monday in the structure near the Toppenish Longhouse.

The sauna-like lodge is used for spiritual cleansing ceremonies.
