CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a former University of Virginia lacrosse player on murder and other charges in the death of a member of the women’s team whom he had been dating.

Besides first-degree murder, the Charlottesville Circuit Court grand jury on Monday indicted 23-year-old George Huguely of Chevy Chase, Md., on felony murder, robbery, burglary, statutory burglary and grand larceny charges.

Circuit Judge Edward Hogshire set a trial date for Feb. 6, 2012. A motions hearing was also set for Nov. 7, 2011.

Huguely is accused in the May 3, 2010, slaying of 22-year-old Yeardley Love who died of trauma to her head inside her apartment. He has been in jail since his arrest.
