Youth offenders and youth drug-use preventers who were asked to “dig deep” into stories from their lives will share personal videos at a digital storytelling event.

The videos will be shown at the event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St., according to Clark County Community Services.

The teens received 18 hours of instruction on the technology of making digital videos and a therapeutic component. Angela Zahas, prevention specialist with community services, and Anna Lookingbill, resource coordinator with the county Juvenile Recovery Court, supervised the project.

The videographers will be at the event. Some are clients of the recovery court, while others are members of Strong Teens Against Substance Hazards and Abuse, a county peer-education program.

The public is invited, as are the teens’ family members and friends.

Professionals who work with youth are also encouraged to attend.
