ST. LOUIS (AP) — The start of the Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals game has been delayed because of a severe weather forecast.
The team expected a storm to reach downtown at 7 p.m. CST, about 15 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. The announcement about the delay was posted on the scoreboard at Busch Stadium.
Despite the forecast, the grounds crew was watering the field right before the storm’s anticipated arrival. Right after that they rolled out the tarp.
