GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) — A 2-year-old Oregon boy was found safe after he wandered away from home wearing only his diaper.

The Oregonian reports the 2-year-old boy and his mother fell asleep Tuesday night but the child woke up at some point and decided to go for a walk — by himself.

KGW-TV reports he was found by a neighbor, Rachel Fabala, who heard the boy was missing and started searching with other neighbors.

Gresham police Sgt. Wallace Coon said wandering toddlers are not a rare event, and Gresham police get a call at least once a month.
