TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Tacoma police are looking for an arsonist in Point Defiance Park.

KIRO-TV reports police cars patrolled the park overnight after a string of arsons in recent weeks.

Trash cans were set afire along Owens beach earlier this month. A fire set at the landmark pagoda building early Friday caused $500,000 damage. And another fire was set Monday night in a restroom trash can.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum says investigators can’t say yet whether the same arsonist is responsible for all the fires.
