OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — It’s furlough Friday for many Washington state employees.

This is the ninth of 10 unpaid days in the current budget period to cut state spending by $70 million. Law enforcement and other crucial workers are exempted.

The next furlough day will be June 10.
