PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Former Washington State University basketball player DeAngelo Casto is free of marijuana possession charge.

Whitman County District court Judge Doug Robinson ruled Thursday that the prosecutor could not use evidence — a small bag of marijuana and partially rolled cigarette — because it was seized by Pullman police March 22 without a search warrant.

Prosecutor Denis Tracy says the county is not able to prosecute the charge without the evidence.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports Casto is currently training in Las Vegas. He gave up his senior season to enter the NBA draft.
