MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Democrats have filed a petition to recall a fifth GOP senator for her vote in favor of Gov. Scott Walker’s divisive union rights bill.

The committee to recall Alberta Darling of River Hills submitted 30,000 signatures Thursday to trigger a recall election. If election officials validate at least 20,300 of the signatures, a recall election will be called.

Darling joins four other Republican senators and three Democratic senators in line for a recall election because of their support or opposition to the law stripping most public employees of collective bargaining rights.

A judge has blocked the law from taking effect while she considers a lawsuit challenging the way it was passed. It would strip most public workers of collective bargaining rights.

Darling says she isn’t afraid to present her record to voters.
