ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Red Wings have earned a break.

Two of their stars really need it.

Henrik Zetterberg didn’t play in the first-round series against the Phoenix Coyotes and Johan Franzen missed Game 4 on Wednesday night. Zetterberg has been out with an injured left knee and Franzen missed a game with an injured left ankle.

Detroit swept the Coyotes after being pushed to seven games against them last year.

The Red Wings will practice Friday and take two days off. Coach Mike Babcock hopes the break sets up the team to have more success.

Detroit’s last sweep came against Columbus in 2009 when the franchise fell one win short of repeating as Stanley Cup champions.
