SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Police say five teenagers have been arrested for vandalizing a Salem, Ore., church over the weekend.

Marion County sheriff’s spokesman Don Thomson says the teens, ages 13 and 14, were arrested Saturday afternoon. He says they broke into the Salem Bible Church, smashed items throughout the church and caused considerable damage.

When deputies were unable to contact church members, Home Depot volunteered services to board up the church window to prevent further damage.

The teens were released to their parents. Thomson says none of the suspects were associated with the church.
