ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Alvin Keith McCants is in jail after being arrested on a cocaine possession charge.
Pinellas County Jail records show the 43-year-old McCants was also was booked Saturday afternoon on a charge of resisting an officer. Bond was set at $4,000. He’s also being held on a warrant from Mobile, Ala., for failure to appear on a controlled substance charge.
There was no answer for a phone number listed at the address on the jail’s website for McCants. There was also no phone number listed for McCants in St. Petersburg.
McCants was a first round draft pick of the Buccaneers and a former University of Alabama standout. He also played defensive end. His legal troubles since leaving the NFL have included charges of cocaine possession, bad-check writing and theft.
