Pleasant Valley — How much stuff can a bus hold? Plenty, Pleasant Valley Middle and Primary school students found out after a weeklong effort to collect donations for SHARE, the local charity for the homeless and needy.

Students, staff and the PTA wrapped up a large collection of clothing, household items and non-perishable food April 22 to send to the nonprofit.

Petermann Northwest, the Battle Ground School District’s contract transportation service, provided a bus for the “Stuff the Bus” effort, which was organized by the schools’ combined PTA. Collections started slowly, but by week’s end donations were streaming in and student leaders at both schools were busy loading it aboard the bus, much to the delight of PTA leaders and proud principals Ward Holcomb at the middle school and Missy Mitchell at the primary.
