Needy Bills hope NFL draft goes as easy as 1-2-3

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix’s plan entering the NFL draft appears to be as easy as 1-2-3.

Once the first two selections are made Thursday night, all Nix figures he has to do is look down the list of his top-three players and pick the one still available.

The Bills are in no position to be choosy. There are plenty of holes to fill on a team coming off a 4-12 season and missed the playoffs for an 11th straight year. They could use a linebacker, a defensive lineman, and even a quarterback.

Simple as that might sound, the one thing the Bills don’t need is another first-round bust. Their past draft misses are the primary reasons they’ve spent the past decade being an NFL afterthought and an AFC East pushover.
