Talking Points: Blazers playoff history

What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Taking a look at the Blazers playoff history and how the team performed in a series that has lasted at least six games tells us that recent history is not on the Blazers’ side.

Since the 1999 NBA playoffs, Portland has played five series that have gone at least six games. The only series they won was in ’99 against the Jazz in a seventh game.

In 2003, the Blazers were down 3-0 to the Mavericks, won games 4-5-6 only to lose at Dallas in Game 7.

Last year Portland won Game 4 against the Suns only to lose the series in six games.

And we won’t bring up the 2000 Western Conference Finals against the Lakers.

Do hawks Tweet?

The roof at Milwaukee’s Miller Park was closed, but that didn’t stop a small hawk from grabbing everyone’s attention at Sunday’s Brewers-Astros baseball game.

The hawk attacked another bird in center field in the top of the third, then landed in shallow right field to watch the bottom of the half with Astros right fielder Hunter Pence giving it plenty of distance.

The favorite Brewers player of @MillerParkHawk? Why, LaTroy Hawkins, of course.
