PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Gov. John Kitzhaber’s companion Cylvia Hayes uses an office in the governor’s suite at the state Capitol where his staff says she does official first lady work.

The Oregonian reports she shares the office on a part-time basis with state chief operation officer Michael Jordan and other members of the governor’s staff who need a temporary work space in Salem.

Kitzhaber spokeswoman Christine Miles says Hayes has taken on hunger issues as her main project.

Kitzhaber’s ex-wife, Sharon Kitzhaber, who was with him for his first two terms, maintained no official space in the Capitol.
