SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Seven people have pleaded guilty to various charges in a major Oregon drug trafficking case involving heroin, including the main supplier.

The Oregon Department of Justice said Thursday the seven defendants entered guilty pleas in Polk County Circuit Court for their roles in a heroin distribution ring in Marion, Clackamas and Polk counties.

They were among 22 arrested in early March at 10 locations in the three counties.

Prosecutors said the main supplier was Sergio Delgadillo, who told investigators he was “recruited” by a drug cartel in Mexico to sell drugs in the United States.

Delgadillo said he’d been arrested several times and deported back to Mexico, but the cartel repeatedly sent him back. He was among those pleading guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
