CHICAGO (AP) — Americans swept up in royal fever are waking before dawn to watch Britain’s Prince William marry longtime sweetheart and commoner Kate Middleton.

Full English breakfasts and British-themed parties are planned Friday in the United States. There’s a live viewing party in New York’s Times Square featuring singer Colbie Caillat. About 250 guests invited to wear prince and princess attire will gather at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Restaurants and bars are hanging Union Jack bunting and hosting watch parties with royally themed drinks such as “The Windsor Knot” and “The Bitter Queen.”

And in private homes across America, royal watchers are hosting their own get-togethers with scones and cucumber sandwiches.up with,” said parishioner Roger Gumm. “This is how our church runs. This is all history in the making.”
