SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Public Schools say grades listed in a district computer system were changed after someone stole teacher passwords.

KIRO-TV reports that the district’s information technology staff sent an email to teachers Thursday warning them of the breach. The email said the theft of network logins or grade changing had occurred at at least three high schools — Ballard, Ingraham and Sealth.

It said hackers hackers plugged devices into computer USB ports that capture everything entered by the keyboard. According to the IT staff it began happening a few weeks ago.

Teachers are being asked to check student grades to see if they’ve been changed.

The district did not immediately return a call seeking comment from The Associated Press.
