PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The New York Mets have activated catcher Ronny Paulino from the 15-day disabled list and optioned catcher Mike Nickeas to Triple-A Buffalo.
The move was made before Friday night’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Paulino was placed on the DL on April 10 with anemia after missing the first eight games while serving the remainder of a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. In 12 rehab games, he hit .190 with two doubles and four RBIs.
In 91 games for the Florida Marlins last season,
Paulinio batted .259 with 18 doubles, four homers and 37 RBIs in 91 games for the Florida Marlins last season.
Nickeas hit .250 with a double, a homer and three RBIs in eight games with the Mets.
