EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — More than 300 emergency vehicles are part of a procession to begin a memorial to a slain police officer in Eugene.

Law enforcement officers from 92 agencies — including 11 from out of state — gathered Friday morning to honor the life of 43-year-old motorcycle Officer Chris Kilcullen, who was gunned down during a traffic stop one week ago.

The procession of 342 vehicles is headed to the Matthew Knight Arena at the University of Oregon for a memorial service.

Kilcullen is the first Eugene police officer killed in the line of duty since 1934.

A 56-year-old Springfield woman has been charged with aggravated murder in his death.
