METAIRIE, La. (AP) — A person familiar with the situation says the New Orleans Saints have agreed to contract terms with defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin and tight end David Thomas.
The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Tuesday because the Saints had not announced the moves, did not disclose the terms of the two free-agent deals.
The 6-foot-1, 317-pound Franklin is a proven run defender who has started the past four seasons for San Francisco after beginning his career in Baltimore.
Thomas has been a regular contributor for the Saints, with 30 or more receptions in each of the past two seasons. He also has played fullback when needed.
The deals came the same day New Orleans agreed to terms with top draft choice Cam Jordan.
