CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Miami led major college football with 27 interceptions thrown last year. And when the Hurricanes figure out who can buck that trend, they’ll have found their starter for this season.

Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris enter the start of Miami camp on Saturday vying for the first-string role, both mindful of the turnover problem that helped doom the Hurricanes’ hopes in the Atlantic Coast Conference a year ago. Miami went 7-6, including a loss to Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl.

Harris says he believes he’s learned plenty from all the mistakes, and Morris believes Miami has a solution. New coach Al Golden doesn’t plan on choosing a starter until later this month.
