Kirkland paddleboarder drowns in Lake Washington

KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) — Neighbors who saw a paddleboarder struggling in Lake Washington near a Kirkland park dived in to pull him out and perform CPR, but he later died.

KOMO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/p3hGU1 ) 35-year-old Tyrone Fabroa of Kirkland was paddling back to shore with his brother on rented paddleboards Monday when he fell into the water and started calling for help.

Witnesses dived in and started CPR until medics arrived. Fabroa was pronounced dead at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland.
