SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) — Tour de France champion Cadel Evans will race for the BMC Racing Team through 2014.

Team President Jim Ochowicz announced the contract extension this week.

He also says three-time U.S. national road champion George Hincapie will stay with BMC for the 2012 season, his 19th professionally.

Evans joined BMC as the reigning world road champion in 2010 and helped the squad earn its first berths in the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia the same season. Evans is No. 1 on the UCI WorldTour rankings while leading BMC Racing to No. 2 in the team standings.

Hincapie has been a teammate of the Tour de France winner a record nine times.
