ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent defensive tackle Tommie Harris.
He’s the third free agent added to Indy’s roster this week. All three are former first-round draft picks.
In Chicago, Harris was a three-time Pro Bowler and played a prominent role in the Bears’ Super Bowl run during the 2006 season. But he’s been hampered by injuries in recent years was released by the team in February.
Coach Jim Caldwell says the Colts like Harris because he is familiar with Indy’s defensive system.
Indy also signed former Atlanta defensive lineman Jamaal Anderson on Monday night. On Tuesday, the Colts signed offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo, their first-round pick in April, and former Eagles and Lions linebacker Ernie Sims. Anderson, Sims and Harris were all top 15 draft picks.
