A police task force in Portland and one in Southwest Washington have cooperated to arrest a Vancouver man accused of selling cocaine in the Portland area.

Investigators say 30-year-old Andre Ashon Hill stored the drug at his home and used his 2002 BMW to deliver it to Oregon customers.

Southwest Washington Safe Streets Task Force members watched Hill leave his home last Thursday and head into Portland. Court papers say Portland Metro Gang Task Force members stopped his car and seized cocaine. The Oregonian reported that after he was arrested on a federal drug charge, officers in Washington searched his home, seizing cocaine, more than $56,000 and two guns.

According to court documents, Hill told Portland detectives he’s been selling cocaine since last summer and estimates he makes about $5,000 a month.

He did not contest his detention during a federal court appearance Tuesday. Arraignment is set for Aug. 16.
