OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens and safety Bernard Pollard have agreed to a two-year contract, a move that fortifies a secondary weakened by the loss of free agent Dawan Landry.

The move was announced Thursday.

Pollard has played five NFL seasons, the last two with Houston. Last season he led the Texans with 111 tackles and four forced fumbles.

The 6-foot-1, 224-pound Pollard will compete with Tom Zbikowski and Haruki Nakamura for the starting position. Landry, who held the position last season, signed with Jacksonville as a free agent.

Pollard broke into the league with Kansas City after being selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2006 draft. He has played in 76 career games, starting 59, and has totaled 402 tackles, seven interceptions and forced eight fumbles
