The Columbian
Published: August 3, 2011, 5:00pm

A volunteer training session on Aug. 10 will allow residents to learn habitat monitoring techniques at the Tryon Creek Natural Area near Portland and Lake Oswego, Ore.

The Community Stream Monitoring Project taught by U.S. Fish & Wildlife and the Tryon Creek Watershed Council will focus on ways to track the health of local watersheds. Volunteers also may sign up to be a part of future fish counts.

The training is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tryon Creek Natural Area. Volunteers can RSVP to the Tryon Creek Watershed Council at tcwc@tryonfriends.org.
