Letter: GOP wins one

The Columbian
Published: August 4, 2011, 5:00pm

These are very sad days for working-class Americans. Thanks to the debt-ceiling deal passed by the House and Senate, America will now suffer many cuts to programs and government services, which in turn will mean many more jobs lost at a great sacrifice to many of us.

However, it’s a victory for the wealthy. They will not have to make one sacrifice for this nation of ours. So it is with a heavy heart that I say to you, today I am not proud to be an American. Shame on our elected officials; they have failed us.
