A motorist escaped without serious injures Saturday morning after his car crashed through a utility pole on MacArthur Boulevard in Vancouver and overturned.

The single-vehicle accident was reported at 10:17 a.m. at 6400 MacArthur Blvd., near Marshall Elementary, according to emergency dispatch records.

The driver, a man in his mid 30s, was assessed at the scene by an AMR ambulance crew but not transported to a hospital, said Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Joe Spatz.

The driver’s name was not available.

Vancouver Fire Department’s Engine 3 also responded.

The accident knocked out power to a few houses in a nearby neighborhood, according to an online outage map maintained by Clark Public Utilities.
