COPLEY, Ohio (AP) — Autopsies are expected to begin Monday for eight people who died during a shooting rampage in a small northeast Ohio town.

Authorities say seven people were killed and one was wounded Sunday in a quiet neighborhood outside Akron before the gunman died in a gunfight with police.

Investigators were collecting evidence in or around several homes in the wooded, residential area as they tried to piece together what happened. They did not release the names or ages of those involved or the condition of the survivor.

Neighbors say the dead included an 11-year-old boy.

A school official says he was told two victims were students at the local high school.

The shootings prompted about 200 people to hold an impromptu candlelight vigil at a park Sunday evening.
