NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan is defending himself on Twitter, saying he left training camp to deal with a personal matter and isn’t upset with his contract.
Finnegan wrote on Sunday that he has spoken to coaches and teammates and will resume “all things asked.” He says his personal issues needed attention and he will be back playing Monday when he will answer all questions.
Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said after practice Saturday that the team had tried to reach Finnegan and was surprised he had left camp. Finnegan writes that Titans’ officials knew of his absence.
The Titans did not immediately respond Sunday to Finnegan’s statements.
