MILAN (AP) — Claudio Ravetto has rejoined the Italian ski team as director of the men’s squad now that former federation boss Giovanni Morzenti has been ousted.

Ravetto directed the men’s and women’s squads last season. He resigned when Morzenti offered to keep him only with the men’s team.

Morzenti was removed from office last month when the Italian Olympic Committee ruled he was elected in an irregular vote.

Senior IOC member Franco Carraro coaxed Ravetto back. Last season, Ravetto guided Italy to an unexpected six medals at the world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
