BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles have placed infielder Cesar Izturis on the 15-day disabled list and recalled pitcher Jason Berken from Triple-A Norfolk.
Izturis strained his left groin Sunday against Toronto. It was his second game since returning from a stay on the 60-day DL with an elbow injury.
He is batting .200 in 18 games this season.
Berken is 1-2 with a 6.27 ERA in 31 appearances for the Orioles. This will be his third stint with Baltimore this year.
