New U of I chancellor familiar with funding woes

URBANA, Ill. (AP) — The woman who will soon lead the University of Illinois’ flagship campus says she’s familiar with funding crises like that the university has endured in recent years.

Phyllis Wise said on campus Tuesday her time as provost and interim president at the University of Washington included deep cuts in state funding.
