What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

We love most Hall of Fame induction speeches. We enjoy seeing our athletes who are genuinely moved by the honor.
It’s even more fun when athletes who have always been considered cocky, and who have always been loud-mouths, get to the stage and then wow us with their humility.
Rickey Henderson had a fine speech when he joined baseball’s hall, for example. And then this weekend, Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders got all emotional on us.
And it was wonderful.
Prime Time cried when he talked about his mom.
And there was Sharpe, one of the greatest tight ends of all time, acknowledging that of all the NFL Hall of Famers, only he could say he was not even the best player in his own family.
Her brother Sterling, if not for an injury that ended his career early, could have been a Hall of Famer, too.
And it was touching to hear Shannon give so much credit to Sterling.

Here is proof that the talent needed to play soccer at an exceptional level comes at birth, and that there really is no need to practice into your teens and beyond in order to sign a pro contract.
If you aren’t signed by the time you are 10, you must suck.
Some soccer club is Spain that calls itself Real Madrid (as opposed to the fake Madrid, we guess) has signed a 7-year-old from Argentina.
Really, Real Madrid? The kid is 7.
