Ridgefield — Bryson Scanapico, 3, of Ridgefield, sat on a stool patiently getting his face painted in army camouflage colors, a reminder of the army booth across the park. Free hot dogs served up by city employees, 30 gallons of lemonade, games and community service booths were only some of the reasons around 800 people showed up at Davis Park during Ridgefield’s Seventh Annual National Night Out celebration. Ridgefield was one of many Clark County neighborhoods participating in the national event designed to promote crime prevention. It has grown to be about so much more, however. “It’s not only about safety, but getting out to meet your neighbors,” said Justin Clary, Ridgefield city manager.
