SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Playing in San Francisco will take some getting used to.

So will everything else for California this year.

In what will be a season filled with changes, the most noticeable for the Golden Bears will be moving across the bay from Berkeley to play at the San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park while Memorial Stadium is renovated. The rest goes well beyond leaving their longtime home.

After missing a bowl game for the first time since his initial season in 2002, coach Jeff Tedford is shaking things up offensively. He plans to take a more active role in calling plays, and he’s switching to a spread-type offensive to suit new quarterback Zach Maynard — a transfer from Buffalo.
