Searchers looking for missing man in Linn County

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — The search os continuing Thursday for a hiker missing in Linn County.

The sheriff says 49-year-old Mark Hardin of Sweet Home left Friday to visit the Upper Calapooia area and was reported overdue Sunday by his wife.

The Albany Democrat-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/p73LK7 ) the search included an Oregon Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter, members of the Marion County sheriff’s office, the Linn County Mounted Posse and volunteers from Benton and Marion counties.

Searchers have found his car and a cigarette lighter and water bottle he may have used.
