The city of Vancouver is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Board of Trustees. Applicants must be city residents who are willing to serve a seven-year term that would begin Jan. 1 and end Dec. 31, 2018.

This seven-member board oversees the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, which includes the city of Woodland plus Clark, Klickitat and Skamania counties. Board member responsibilities include setting policy, adopting a budget and ensuring that the public has equal access to information.

City representatives on the board are recommended by the mayor and city council, and are subject to appointment by the boards of commissioners of Clark, Klickitat and Skamania counties.

Library board meetings are generally held the second Monday of each month at rotating library branches in the three-county area.

For an application, contact Amanda Delapena, City Manager’s Office, P.O. Box 1995, Vancouver, WA 98668, call 360-487-8605 or visit http://www.cityofvancouver.us/boards.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Sept. 11.
