Bike rider killed in Portland hit-and-run

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — One bicycle rider was killed and a second injured by a hit-and-run driver in Portland.

A police officer was flagged down about 1 a.m. Friday, and medics pronounced the downed cyclist dead at the scene, at t Southeast 85th and Division Street.

The officer also found the injured cyclist who was taken to a hospital. That 17-year-old is expected to recover.

Police say they found the suspect vehicle abandoned. Officers searched the area with a dog and are still looking for the driver.
