COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency says David Clinger has accepted a lifetime ban from cycling after his second doping offense.

USADA said Friday that the 34-year-old from Murray, Utah, was nearing the end of a two-year period of ineligibility for his first offense when the second offense happened.

In June 2009, officials detected testosterone and modafinil in his urine sample. This year, officials found the tanabolic agent, clenbuterol, in an out-of-competition sample collected June 29. USADA says Clinger accepted responsibility for using clenbuterol to enhance his performance.
