PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A newspaper is reporting that early concerns about a Portland parking executive were repeatedly lost in a web of labor strife, personality conflicts and turf wars.
Portland Parking Manager Ellis McCoy was put on administrative leave last week following federal raids of his home and office.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/ola3Yj) that city parking technicians raised question’s about McCoy’s aggressive pitch for modern parking meters as far back as 2002. The technicians complained that some of McCoy’s claims were untrue, but city managers dismissed those complaints as typical worker-versus-management strife.
The technicians allege that McCoy had a friendly relationship with the contractors he did business with. McCoy has denied wrongdoing.
